Tongues always pressed to your cheeks, While my tongue is on the inside of some other girls teeth, Tell your boyfriend if he says hes got beef, That I'm a vegetarian and I ain't fucking scared of him.
The pounding of the techo music from inside the nightclub was enough to make Mercutio's fur stand on end. The mutt was lingering in an alley to the side of the building, once picking through trash, but now simply sitting there, content for the moment. He had found a nice amount of food that would keep him filled for the night, and now, the music was annoying the dog a bit...but, only a bit. He had lived with several teenagers before, and was used to loud music of different genres...rap, pop, hip-hop, rock, rave, it was all the same to the dog. Yet he had quite gotten used to life without it. The only reason he was still sitting in the alley was due to the fact that he could hear a group of loud drunken humans somewhere near the front of the club.
If he walked out, he would have to walk right past them. And if there was one thing Mercutio had learned, it was to stay away from humans that had been drinking that horrible substance. He did like humans at times, yes. He had been raised by them. Yet he had seen many humans act so strangely after drinking, doing drastic things and being completely uncalled for in general. So, in this case, Mercutio was going to stick to himself, thank-you-very-much.
Mercutio yawned and stood up, stretching his slightly-lean yet still muscled body, before plopping down onn the cold ground, laying his head on his paws. It had been a while since Mercutio had encountered another dog. He had wandered around on his own for days, and now, as he yawned, Mercutio thought that he wouldn't mind a bit of company.
She wants to touch me (Woah), She wants to love me (Woah), She'll never leave me (Woah, woah, oh, oh), Don't trust a hoe, Never trust a hoe, Won't trust a hoe, Won't trust me.

Scatter Please please please The golden retriever lowered herself to the ground in front of the humans, her tail between her legs as she whimpered quietly. She hadn't seen them in time and had ended up right in the middle of the small crowd before she'd realised it, now they had all noticed her and some were patting her while others were cursing at her and aiming kicks at her. She managed to avoid most of the kicks but one got her right in the ribs, making her release a loud yelp. Which just made the aggressive human try again but she avoided it this time, slinking off to the side.
Another human blocked her way though and she whimpered, her side hurting where she'd just been kicked. She was scared, she didn't like humans and these ones weren't nice. And she couldn't get away either. One human got too close to her again and she let out a half hearted grown but just received a hard kick from someone else for it. She released another loud yelp and tried to run but a big guy stopped her, grabbing onto her long golden tan fur and pulling her closer to him easily.
Her nails scratched against the paving as she tried to get away but he was holding on too tightly, she yelped again as she tried to pull away. Seeing no other way she managed to turn her head and sink her teeth into his arm. Bad idea! He didn't let go but hit her on the nose with the other hand, making her yelp loudly a few times before trying even harder to get away but it still didn't work, his grip on her was just too good. She kept whimpering, which just amused the man and made him keep holding on.

Bruises cover your arms Shaking in the fingers with the bottle in your palm
Mercutio had began to doze off, not fully falling alseep. No, the mix did not sleep at night. If anything, he took small half-naps, and even then they were rare. He didn't have to worry about nightmares for long, however, as he was suddenly jerked away from his sleep by the sound of yelps, growls, and laughter. Human laugher, that rang louder in his ears than all else. Ah, the sound was usually joyus, something that used to warm his heart. But now the laugh was harsh, it's tones unsteady, and it made his fur stand on end. Needless to say, a dog had found itself tangled in the drunken group's way, like a fly in a spider web, or so it sounded.
Mercutio was on his feet in an instant, moving towards the edge of the alleyway. If it was a brute, he would leave it be. After all, the male would have gotten himself into it, and it was certainly not Mercutio's job to help him out. As the mix stuck his head around the wall, however, he noticed that it was not a male. It was a Golden Retriever bitch, struggling to get away from an amused man that had her by her fur. Naturally, Mercutio felt a sense of protection, an moments later, he was bounding out of the alley.
With a single bark that sounded loudly, Mercutio's forelegs left the ground as he pressed forward with his powerful hindlegs, propelling himself forward. He broke through the circle of men easily, his speed from his Collie mother and bulk from his Pit Bull father put to use. His snarl transformed as he opened his mouth to reveal all of his teeth, latching onto the man holding the Retriever. He had grabbed the arm that the man had hit her with, but the force of his jump flung him slightly, causing him to strain his neck. Yet he did not let go as his hindfeet reconnected with the ground. Instead, he gripped tighter, growling and ignoring men that were now kicking him harshly as he slung his head back and forth viciously.

Scatter Please please please She saw the other dog bounding towards the human that was holding her and she felt a slight sense of relief. This was why she didn't like being on her own, it was a lot harder to get out of situations like this. The man managed to hold on for a while still but she managed to pull away and she growled at him viciously before jumping towards him and biting down hard on whatever part of him she could sink her teeth into. She wasn't capable of holding on though so she let go and managed to get through between two other men before they could catch her, running out of their reach before she turned to look for the dog that had helped her, it would only be polite for her to thank him.
She also hoped that she would be able to stay in his company, she was sore from them kicking her and the way that the man had pulled on her fur. She was also a bundle of nerves, trembling slightly as she stood there looking for the other dog still. She was backing away from the humans at the same time though, not wanting to stay anywhere near them. Next time would have to be a lot more careful not to get caught by any humans. This had just reminded her why she hated them so much, and why she never wanted to get anywhere near them. But sometimes she just couldn't stop herself from going to them, especially if they had food.
She was starving, she'd had little to eat the last few days because she rarely stayed in one place long enough to find food, usually finding a hostile dog or humans wherever she was. This dog had helped her though so she would take the chance and see if he was friendly. If he was then she would be overjoyed because it meant she would have a companion for at least a little while. She loved to have someone with her, she got lonely very easily and she hated being alone.

Mercutio continued to hold onto the human, until he noticed the Golden slip off, meaning that he had managed to distract the man long enough for him to release her. So Mercutio's job was done, but after doing so much damage to the man's arm, he wasn't going to get off easily. A fist suddenly connected with the side of his head, making an explosion of shapes and colors burst before is eyes. He was suddenly dizzy as his grip slackened, and the moment it did, Mercutio was thrown to the ground, before he recieved several more kicks.
The Pit Bull mix then forced himself to regain his senses, at least long enough to get away. He scrambled to his feet and let out a shaky snarl, followed by a ferocious bark. He then managed to swiftly weave towards the legs of one of the other men. He was moving quickly, and it wasn't helping his head, but Mercutio couldn't stay near the humans, unless he wanted to die.
A good distance away was the female, though she seemed to be watching for him. He shot over to her and stopped in front of her, incase one of the human's attacked again, to ensure that if they did, he would be the one to receive the hit. He grinned doggishly at her, before looking back. The drunken humans, seeming to have had enough dogs for one night, were stumbling off down the street.
Mercutio turned back to the Retriever, now completely ignoring his head. "Are you alright, miss?" He asked kindly, looking at her with slight concern.

Scatter Please please please She saw him receive a few more kicks before he managed to get away and come towards her. She stopped backing away when he got to her and just stood still, watching him. "I'm fine now." She said, her tone friendly as she watched him. Her tail wagged slightly, almost unsurely. So far he seemed like a nice enough dog but you could never be sure, first impressions weren't always right. She was really hoping that it was this time and that he wasn't a mean dog that would end up hurting her or something similar because she really didn't want to run at the moment. She was already in enough pain.
Her eyes expressed some of this pain and she would've been whimpering if he hadn't been there, she didn't exactly want to make it too obvious that she was in pain because it usually created an opportunity for less friendly dogs to take advantage if they wanted. Her stomach was growling slightly, complaining about the lack of food in it but she ignored it as she kept watching the male, wondering what he might say next. She looked wary, and alert. She was ready to react if he did anything but she didn't really know what she could do to him at the moment.
She looked over towards the disappearing humans again, just to make sure that they were still moving away before she sat down with a slight whimper. It hurt to move, and breathe come to think of it because they'd kicked her right in the ribs and her lungs pressed against them when she breathed in. She was thin, there was no much meat or fat on her bones. She just didn't look so thin because of her long golden coat that looked healthy.

Mercutio couldn't help but notice how weary the female seemed. It wasn't an uncommon thing, however. Personally, Mercutio was harmless, but he was constantly striving to prove this. Most females these days were so skittish, yet they had good reason. Mercutio hated the image a few brutes had given to the whole gender. A few simple dogs who were so desperate for some sick, twisted fun, that they altered their whole gender image. It just struck Mercutio as incredibly dumb. Why couldn't they just act accordingly? It honestly wasn't as hard as they made it out to be. Really.
Mercutio was slightly reassured when she said that she was alright, but not for long. His ears twitched as her stomach growled, and he moved forward with concern as she whimpered when she sat. He then stopped, reconsidering. "Miss, my name is Mercutio, and you can have my word that I'm not going to harm you. I simply want to help you, that's all." He said in a soft tone, before moving forward, making sure to keep his movements slow. He did not touch the girl, but instead moved around her and over to a trashcan.
He had explored this one earlier, and had found a piece of pizza and half of a hotdog that he had left, since he had already eatten. Now, he grabbed hold of both in his powerful jaws, muscled moving smoothly under his pelt as he walked back over to the Golden. He laid the food at her feet, and then backed away a few steps, sitting down. His body was sore, and even bleeding in a few places, but for now, she was his concern.

Scatter Please please please She listened to his words and watched him go over to a trashcan to come back with food for her. She watched him back away after placing it at her feet, she was sure now that he was harmless. She relaxed in his presence and noticed that he was bleeding but she could not ignore the food, which she ate quickly. It silenced her stomach. She looked up at him. "Thank you Mercutio." She said, stepping towards him slightly, her movements submissive although not fearful as she wagged her tail slightly. "I'm Scatter." She told him.
Moving closer to him more and ignoring her own pain she reached out to lick his wounds clean. He had helped her and she would show him that she was thankful for that. At least they hadn't hurt her enough to make her bleed. "I'm sorry you had to get near those humans." She told him as she kept cleaning his wounds, keeping her eyes on his so that she could see his expression as much as he could. She didn't want to offend him or do anything that would make him decide that he could possibly want to harm her, even if he had said that he wouldn't.
When she finished cleaning his wounds as best she could she just lay down on the ground next to him, watching him and waiting for him to say something. She was sore and she didn't really feel like moving but she knew that if they stayed here it wouldn't be long before more drunk humans came out and she was sure they'd probably decide that it would be fun to play with a few dogs too. Just like the last ones had. And she wasn't sure how much more of a beating she would be able to take from them.

I don't care what you think as long as it's about me
Mercutio watched her eat, feeling slightly better. He couldn't do much about the soreness he knew her body was feeling, just as his was, after the kicks, but at least he had helped keep her fed. Now that he had promised not to hurt her, she seemed much more accepting of him, which cheered him even more. It also surprised him, though, when she was bold enough to wander over and begin tending to his wounds, though she seemed hesitant, as if this might anger Mercutio and cause him to unexpectantly lash out at her, but he wouldn't dare.
He remained still, making sure to keep a grateful smile on her face until she laid down. "Thank you, Scatter." He said, lowering himself into a laying position beside her. "I wish there was more I could do for you." He said, with a slight frown as he simply laid there, trying to think of something that he could do.
In all the excitement of the situation, he hadn't exactly gotten a good look at her, so he shifted his gaze to study the female. She was a pretty sight, he did have to admit that to himself. Her fur was long and a golden hue, her eyes a pretty brown. Despite her being a stray, her fur was not tangled and matted. He glanced back up at her, smiling.
"Forgive me for staring, but you're a real pretty sight, if I do say so m'self."

Scatter Please please please She listened to him thank her and smiled slightly as her eyes closed. She was resting her head on her paws, she was quite tired and her little encounter with the humans hadn't exactly helped much either. She also heard him say that he wished there was more he could do for her. "Stay with me." She muttered, not really having meant to say it out loud, it had just been meant as a thought to herself. She didn't even realize that she'd said it out loud.
Because her eyes were closed she didn't really realise that he was studying her. When she heard his words she opened her eyes and looked at him in flattered surprise. "Thank you." She said, uncertain about whether to actually believe him or not. Though, she had a feeling she should because she got told that she was beautiful or pretty or something like that quite a lot. She rarely did anything that would tangle her coat or make it dirty which was why it looked the way it did. She usually got things stuck in it so she'd learned to stay away from anything that could get stuck in it.
She didn't know what to say to him, she didn't really think that he was that bad either. She rarely ever thought about things like that though, usually just being grateful for anyone's company. Especially a male that could protect her, and he'd already shown that he could save her. She kept looking at him, her mind trying to sort some things out but it was too tired so she lay her head down on her paws again, trying to keep her eyes open but they shut again slowly. She didn't drift off though, she found it hard to sleep.
