I won't fall down, my heart still pounds I'm breathing now, I won't fall down I won't fall down, my heart still pounds I'm breathing now, I won't fall down
Pain shot through her neck and made her head throb as the brute clamped down harder on the flesh he had in his mouth. She whined slightly, but then muffled it as she continued to try and claw at him. She wouldn't be able to get up, that she knew. If she even tried, she would cause her own neck a hell of a lot of pain, since the brute was still holding on to it. And, he would probably just push her back down, seeing as how he had readjusted his weight. So she simply continued to try and scratch him. She could see from where she laid that she had a few times, but not nearly enough to get him off of her, so she had to keep on.
Then he let go and moved away, and she was on her feet in an instant. She snarled automatically, not caring that blood was trickling down from her neck and onto the sand, making a thick puddle near her feet. "You'll have to near kill me for me to give up." She growled, shaking her head once and then stopping due to how it made it pound more. "I don't back down, you know, I was bred for this." Not fighting, exactly, but for guarding. And that did mean fighting sometimes, even if it meant dying. Because some things were worth dying for.
There was a moment when she just stood there, snarling, and then she lunged at him, her body a flash of ebony-and-chocolate, her teeth flashing ivory as she aimed for a spot on his face or head. It wasn't the throat, because she knew he would be expecting that. But the face and head...it would hurt pretty bad if she did manage to get a hold of it, and the swelling and whelps later to come couldn't be too comfterable, either.
Well here go, my big plans To build up this fortress up into the clouds It's made up of my love and my heart and my blood We'll make it out

He heard her words and a smirk appeared on his features as he kept his eyes locked onto her. "Bred for making puddles of blood?" He asked mockingly. He noticed her lunge and reacted by moving, though not fast enough to get out of the way completely. She got his face, if that had been what she'd wanted. His cheek to be exact, well, his cheek and part of his top lip. He started growling as he threw his weight at her, not moving his head too much in case she decided to hold onto what she'd managed to get hold of. He did turn his head after a moment, however, to try and bite at her as well, trying to push her to the ground at the same time. Though this time he didn't have the advantage of having lunged at her and gained momentum. And he was probably pretty close to her in weight as well.
He had to admit, he did admire the way that she was fighting back. A lot of dogs would've given up when he'd had them by the neck. Maybe he should just get her by the neck again and remind her that he could have killed her already but he had decided not to. Was he going soft? Even just the thought of that could send a shiver up his spine. No, he wasn't going soft, he was just.. um.. just testing her. that's it.

She would have responded to his comment, had she released him when she had bitten him. But the Doberman bitch had hung on firmly, biting down harshly and beginning to jerk her head back and forth. When he turned his head, she felt his teeth graze her cheek, knowing that he could bite back, but she wasn't concerned. At that moment, he tried to push her down with his weight again, yet this time she was determined to stay standing. She pushed firmly back against him, letting him know by throwing her weight against him that it wouldn't be that easy now that she was on her feet. No, she was quite determined.
She shook her head once more, biting down even harder. Memories of previous fights with strays that had wandered into the gates of whatever area she was guarding flooded her mind, and she let out a snigger that was muffled by her grip on the Dal. Ah, the good ol' days.

Shango felt her shake her head but he didn't pull against it, no, that would be stupid and hurt more. He kept growling though, vicious growls, as he kept trying to bite her. He lifted his front paws and pushed against her to try and push her off him. He pulled away from her at the same time too so that he would have to let go, then he moved away from her, his expression one of interest now. "Stubborn.." He commented, his words sounding almost like a snarl though not a hostile one at all. He would need to snap out of this being impressed by her if he wanted to hurt her more or do something else.
Smirk appeared on his features as he kept moving again so that she would not be able to lunge at him again, he would react faster this time as well, now knowing that she moved pretty fast. "Let's stop this nonsense before we both end up dead." He commented, his words calm as he kept his eyes on her, he wasn't giving up or giving in to her and if she agreed then he wouldn't consider it as her giving up either. No, it would just be a mutual agreement to stop the hostility so that neither would end up getting killed.

She allowed him to back away as she took a few steps back herself. When he called her stubborn, she chuckled, with sounded growl like. "I have to be." She murmured, keeping a close watch on the brute. She hadn't fought like this in quite some time, and it was nice, but also exhausting. The bastard was skilled, she had to give him that. He fought well, and obviously wasn't as stupid as she had previously made him out to be. Not that she would ever admit that, of course.
When he requested that they stop fighting before someone died, she blinked. Hesitantly she relaxed, leting her hackles lower and muscles relax. "Alright." She agreed, still trying to steadily ignore the blood running down her body. She observed him for a moment, taking a step back and then sitting down. "I'm Firefly."

Dammit, either he had to be going soft or he liked her... Eyes stayed focused on her as she agreed and he stopped moving and sat down as well when she did. It was impossible to tell the difference between him being relaxed and him being tense and ready to attack. Which could only really be expected of him, since he usually just attacked and that was it. He listened to her state her name. "Shango." He said, his tone just emotionless as he raised a paw to rub at the blood coming from the side of his face. It was annoying, but not quite painful. He was too used to being injured.
Annoyed sound was made before he got up, trotting over to the water before sticking his face into it, letting the wave wash away most of the blood and the sand that he had managed to get on it as well. Then he shook his head before heading over to her as well. Since he wasn't quite used to making small talk or anything close to that he wasn't quite capable of starting a conversation. He kept his eyes on her though, if for any reason she wanted to attack him again he wasn't going to let her catch him by surprise because that would be terrible.

"Shango." She said, as if storing the name into her memory so she would not forget it any time soon. He was a Dalmatian, that was for sure, and he seemed quite emotionless, judging by his tone and the way he acted. But at least she wasn't still fighting him, becuase he was talented at that, she admitted. And if she had continued to fight, she would be in worse condition than she was now. Which, of course, was never a good thing. So the Doberman was thankful for him calling the little bawl off, her gratitude flickering in her eyes for one small moment.
Firefly watched the brute as he moved over to the water to clean his wounds. She remained where she was, simply watching him. When he turned back towards her, she noticed that he was watching her as well, practically waiting for her to spring at him again. But she wouldn't unless given good, clear reason to. "So what brings you here, Shango?" She asked conversationally.

He heard her question and made a motion similar to a shrug. "Nothing, I just happened to come here." He commented calmly, his expression blank. He didn't have a reason to be here and he wasn't about to make one up just for the benefit of answering her question. He wasn't going to ask her why she was here either because he didn't exactly care about why she was here. Though he was quite sure that she hadn't planned to get attacked when she'd come here. Though, he hadn't either come to think of it.
His eyes stayed on her though his body began to relax slowly, he was starting to feel as if he would not need to be prepared the whole time in case she attacked. After all, the first attack had only happened because he had provoked her. He did that though, provoked others so they would attack him and give him reason to fight back, or rather just fight.

Firefly nodded, perfectly understanding his answer. She alwaus just wandered places, hardly ever having a purpose. She didn't have any response, however, so she simply remained quiet, watching the steady drip of her blood onto the sand, making a thick, gritty puddle. It didn't bother her at all. She was not like most dogs, getting all fussed over an injury, though it was quite painful, she did have to admit that to herself. But only herself.
She glanced up at him again, simply watching him now, studying his movements. He was different, it seemed, though it what way she could not tell.

Since she didn't say anything else the spotted brute just let his eyes travel over her, seeing the blood dripping from the wounds he had caused. A slight smirk appeared on his features, he had done a good job, any other dog that wasn't as stubborn as she seemed to be would've given in to him a long time before she did.. not that she had, which did bother him somewhat. "You're causing a puddle." He commented, his tone emotionless. He was only stating that fact because he felt as though he needed to say something. Though why he wasn't sure. In normal circumstances he would just leave, though, in normal circumstances she would not still be alive.. so this was confusing him somewhat. Why didn't he do to her what he normally did to others. Eyes stayed on her as he waited for her to say something, probably some mocking comment because of the stupid and obvious statement he had made. The salt water had stopped his own bleeding, because the cuts and the part where her teeth had gone through the skin were not at all that big and would've have caused him to lose too much blood anyway. Though he tended to make sure the wounds he caused were good and big so they would bleed a lot. If that was at all possible.
