Name
Jaya (sometimes goes by Jay)
Gender
Female
Breed
Mutt (Rat Terrier and Australian Shepherd)
Age
3
History
Jaya was born, surprisingly, to a breeder, one august. The breeder worked with both Aussies and Rat Terriers, and one from each breed found a way to get past the fences to each other. She had two siblings. A brother and a sister. The other female was black with white markings, and the only male was, like Jaya, blonde and white. The three knew they were going to get sent to different homes. They didn't want to be separated, but they all hoped they would get good families and have a happy life.
It worked out the way they had hoped. When the day came for them to be adopted, they all went to good homes. Aspen, the black and white female, was first, then Caeden, their brother, and last Jaya herself. Her family was nice. A mom, a dad, and a young boy for the pup to play with. It wasn't to last for two long though. The boy developed bad allergies within the first year that she lived with them, and they couldn't keep her. She was taken to a pound.
It wasn't one of those big scary ones you hear about, where its all cold, cement, and chains. The place was friendly. The humans had smiles on their faces and were hopeful about her future. They told her she'd find a wonderful home with people who would take care of her and love her. The other dogs were friendly for the most part. A few were too dominant and prone to attack, but most were nice. They had collected from all sorts of areas. Some, like her, had been abandoned by families for various reasons such as allergies or moving, others had come from the streets, captured by police or such who had found them.
Those from the streets, they had told her such stories. It was a hard life, they said, but it sounded like it held such adventure. Sure she could tip a trashcan and scavenge in it, she'd gotten in such trouble for that a time or too, and she knew she was faster than most humans if they tried to chase her. Or so, she was pretty sure she was. The old strays unknowingly filled her head with such fantasies. A plan was already forming inside her head.
Her collar was always too loose. It was a bit big for her on it's smallest. The humans never worried about it. She was so well behaved usually. And she was more likely to pull forward on the leash and do no more than choke herself. But she figured It wouldn't be hard to twist out of. It wasn't hard for her, on her next short walk. She escaped quickly and darted off. The human who had her leash tried to run after her, but soon gave up and went in to try and explain what had happened to the owner of the pound. But Jaya was fast, and she was out of sight before the owner could get outside. She had to get out of that town though. She knew posters would be up. Humans did that for lost dogs. The further away the better. So after a night of rest, she set out for a new area to dwell in the life she had heard so much about.
Appearance
Jaya's pelt is a light blonde color with white markings, mostly on her muzzle, belly, neck, and toes. She has a thick coat that mats easy, especially when shedding, but it isn't long. Her build could be considered stocky. Her legs are about an inch to short in proportion to her body, and she's pretty muscular, having both speed and stamina on her side. Her ears fold and flop down after sticking up half way, and her tail is long and kind of thin. Her eyes are ambery-brown, lighter near the whites, and fading into the black of the pupil.
((Do I need a picture? I couldn't find one, but I know the description of this dog 'cause I have a black and white one.))
Character
Jaya is a dreamer. She'll fantasize any story so it sounds like the perfect life, no matter how dark it really is. When it turns out to be a night mare, her stubborn nature'll kick in and she'll find the best in it untill another option opens up for her. She's not quite dominant, but defiantly not submissive like she'd describe her sister. She is also not very territorial, willing to share unless there is reason not to, but she has a mischievous streak, making her quite the little theif when its all in fun and games. She is friendly, willing to be around others when she can, and gets lonely pretty easy, but isn't one to whine about it.
Family
Mother- Gloria
Father- Garret
Siblings- Caeden (Brother), Aspen (Sister)
Example
((Don't know if I need this, wasn't on the form, but somewhere it said it was required for the first character, so I want to be safe))
It was dark in the Alley. Jay wasn't scared, but she couldn't see that good. She figured she was alone, save for the rat she heard scurry. She wanted to chase after it, but she was too tired. For now, she just wanted to curl up and sleep. Then she would dash after rodents.
Her claws clicked on the cement of the alleyway. Behind her, where the road was, cars roared by. A bit of water trickled at the side of the buildings, still looking for a place to seep into the earth after the last rain. It would have to travel a while if it wanted to find that here, Jay though to herself.
She yawned. She'd be out soon, in a more peaceful area. Maybe with some grass. She loved the feel of grass on her pads. She loved snow too, it was so exciting, but it wasn't the right season for that. So for now, she'd have to settle for grass.
