I cried out with no reply And I can't feel You by my side
Mercutio had been able to successfully squeeze through the hole and shoot off through the building, but had instantly regretted doing so. It was horribly dark, and there was an odd smell in the air. The place was lifeless, not to mention downright creepy. All of his spirit from the game was seeping away. Mercutio had gotten as far as a set of stairs before he had stopped, and now that he squinted into the darkness, he was glad he had. Further up the stairs, two had completely fall through, and one had bent in an odd, jagged way. The railing was falling as well. Mercutio frowned, wondering what else awaited him in this building.
Mercutio turned, continuing to squint into the dark. By the door, he could see a large cowering shape, something scared. Scatter. Mercutio instantly stumbled forward, running into something large and metal on the way, creating a deafening bang. Nearly scaring himself to death, he skittered away from the object and over to Scatter, nudging her lightly before laying his head on her back.
"Let's go." He said simply, voice full of concern and care.
So I'll hold tight to what I know You're here and I'm never alone

Scatter Please please please She stayed where she was as she tried to see in the dark but failed. It was just too dark for her to be able to see anything. She could hear something moving but she wasn't sure if it was Mercutio or something else, when she heard the deafening back she scrambled around, trying to turn around and back up agaist the door at the same time, she was shaking almost violently and her tail was pulled between her legs even more as she made whimpering sounds. She wanted to get out of here.
She managed to turn around, her nails were sliding on the floor though which made it hard. And she couldn't find the hole to squeeze through. She was too freaked out to calm down enough to just look for it though. She could hear whatever it was coming closer to her and it was making her panic even more. When she felt sometihng nudge her she yelped, not out of pain though. When she felt something on her back she shook even more and cowered away from it, when she heard Mercutio's voice she looked somewhat relieved though and moved closer to him.
She was so relieved that it was him and not some other scary creature that would hurt her. She was trying to get as close to him as she possibly could, wanting him to keep her safe from anything that might be in the darkness. She didn't care that she was probably being really silly at the moment because she couldn't exactly help being so scared. She was waiting for him to do or say something again, she didn't want to stay in this place for a moment longer.

I cried out with no reply And I can't feel You by my side
He had startled her, and it made Mercutio feel bad as she cowered away. But when she heard his voice, she snapped back like a magnet, pressing herself close to him. He leaned into her, noticing how bad she was shaking. She was absolutely terrified, and he didn't blame her. This building was horrible, so dark and so ominous. Had he known... He shook his head, and then concentrated on comforting her for the moment. "I'm sorry, Scatter." He said, his voice soft and apologetic. "Had I know this building was like this, I never would have made you follow me in." He sighed slightly, resting his head against her.
After a moment, he pulled his head back and spoke again. "Stay right here. I'm going to find the hole." He said, before moving around her and to the boarded up doorway. He made sure that his tail was wagging, though, so that it would brush back and forth on her back, hoping it would help reassure her that he hadn't left her.
Mercutio ran his nose along the boards for a good five minutes, getting a good few splinters on his maw, before he found the place they had came in at. "Here it is." He said, not taking his nose off of it, as he didn't want to leave her in this place. "Just walk alongside my body until you get here. I'm going to let you go through first."
So I'll hold tight to what I know You're here and I'm never alone

Scatter Never leave me She had stopped whimpering when she'd been reassured that it was Mercutio who was there and not someone else. She listened to what he said but was too terrified to say anything to him. When he moved she whimpered slightly but his tail brushing across her back reassured her that he was still there and she waited for him to find the hole that she hadn't been able to find before. When he did she listened to what he told her and did as he said, walking next to him with her body brushing against his as she put her nose down to try and find the hole as well.
When she found it she squeezed through it quickly, running to the gate quickly before shaking herself and lying down. She wasn't shaking so much anymore but she was still trembling slightly and she put her head on her paws, still looking anxious as she waited for him to get out as well. She wouldn't be able to jump over the fence again the way they'd come in because she was too shaky and she would just end up hurting herself. Darkness was something that scared her as well, even if it seemed silly. But she associated it with things creeping up on her without her knowing. When she was with someone she was fine, but as soon as she was alone she couldn't take it.

Mercutio waited until he heard he scramble through the hole before he did so himself. It had been easier before, since he had pushed through it with so much force. But now, his muscles were proving to be a bother. They weren't huge, but the hole wasn't, either...He frowned, scraping his nails against the ground and having to try and forcefully pull himself out. What if he couldn't? What if he had to go back in the building and find some other way out? Shuddering at the thought, he tried harder, and was eventually able to push himself out onto the other side.
Shaking himself, he ran over to Scatter and nuzzled her affectionately, before looking up at the gate. It had been easier to clear from the other side, because the gait was bent the opposite way. Here, though, it was jagged and bent towards them, seeming impossible to breach. He walked over, looking up at the lock on the gate. It was half-off anyways, rusted and broken. He reared on his hindlegs, putting his powerful jaws to work. He slowly tried to pry the lock off, not caring that one of his back teeth chipped slightly, or that his gums were bleeding.
Finally, with a loud clack, the lock clattered to the pavement. Mercutio pushed on the gate, landing on all four paws when it swung open. He then doubled back around, walking over to Scatter and nudging her once more.
So I'll hold tight to what I know You're here and I'm never alone

Scatter Never Leave Me She was getting worried when it took him so long to get through but when he finally did she looked relieved. She didn't move though, trying to calm her pounding heart. She watched him go over to the gate, lifting her head from her paws and looking both worried and curious. When he broke the lock and then came over to her she got up quickly, wanting to get away from the terrifying building as soon as possibly. She ran towards the gate, not a sprint because she was still too shaky, but just a slowish run. She made sure to look and see if he was coming too though, wanting to be close to him.
He made her feel safe, and she liked feeling safe. When she felt that she was far enough away from the building she slowed to a walk, her tail down and her whole body slightly limp. She still appeared fearful, her heart still pounding. It would take her a small while to get over the fear. The darkness along with not knowing where he'd been had been enough to scare her a lot.

Mercutio followed Scatter out, running to catch up with her. When he did, he moved closer to her as he walked along beside her, still trying to be of comfort. He nuzzled her side gently, and let out a whine of apology. "I'm sorry." He said. "I really am, It was all my fault. I shouldn't have ran in there." His tone was sincere and apologetic, showing that he wasn't just talking. He truly was sorry. He felt bad for having done that to her, terribly much so.
He had realized that talking had make him gums bleed more, dripping out over his muzzle a bit, but he didn't much care. Right now, he was concerned about her, and solely her. He looked over at her, concerned as to if she was going to be all right. He knew what it was like to be afraid of something, and then made to go through it.
So I'll hold tight to what I know You're here and I'm never alone

Scatter Never Leave Me Feeling him nuzzle her side she turned her head to look at him, listening to his words before she stopped walking. She licked at his muzzle, seeing the blood there before she just pressed her head against his neck for a moment. "It's ok, you didn't know." She told him. She was sure that if he'd known it would scare her he would've have gone in there so she didn't really think he needed to apologize to her. Though seeing that he cared about her made her feel a lot better.
She was fine now, having calmed down a lot while getting away from the building. Not that it was even the building that had scared her. If she had gone in there knowing that he was by her side she would've been completely fine. She wasn't normally scared of the dark, only when she was alone. She sat down, watching him more calmly now. The situation had completely taken the playfullness out of it, it would return again soon and then they could continue their game if they wanted but at the moment she just felt like sitting down.

But i'll be here
Mercutio nodded, but he still felt slightly bad. He smiled as she leaned her head against his neck, and he continued to walk along beside her. It was odd how much he had came to care for her already. But Scatter was an amazing girl, and he couldn't help but be thankful he had wandered to that alley during late hours of the night. Had he not, he never would have met her, and he would still be wandering around, loosing his rhymes about how love was what he didn't have, yet wanted. But now he had someone to protect and care for, as long as she would have him.
She sat down, and he did the same, looking over at her. "I don't like the dark, either. You can't ever see what's waiting there." He said reasonably, thinking for a moment. "Being alone is something else I fear." He then nodded. "But enough about what we don't like. What are some of your favorite things?" He asked, trying to brighten the conversation.

Scatter listened to his words, just staying where she was and watching him. "I don't really have favorite things." She told him truthfully. Her life was usually dictated by her fears so she never really had time to find things that she liked and that could be her favorite things. All she knew was that she liked playing games and that was about it. She was still a little shaken up from what had happened before so it would take a while before she'd start being playful again.
She kept watching him as she waited to hear what he would say in response to her words."What are your favourite things?" She asked him almost curiously. If they kept going with this conversation then she would probably calm down enough soon and start being playful again. As long as he didn't just give up and let her stay in the state that she was. She just needed to be reassured until she calmed down enough to become playful again.
