You're causing a puddle.
Firefly glanced up, staring at Shango for a moment. "Really now?" She asked sarcastically, but still, she let a small half-smile show to signal that she was partially kidding. Before waiting for a reply, she mimicked his earlier move and walked over to the water. She waded in until her paws where just barely brushing the wet sand and her head was held high, and then began to swim. She dove under to make sure that the water got all of her wounds before she emerged again, snorting and swimming back to the shore.
As she reached dry land, she shook the water droplets from her pelt and walked back over to her puddle, covering it with a small mound of sand. She then glanced at Shango, chuckling. "Better?"

Shango heard her word and saw the slight smile that indicated she was partly kidding, it stopped him from reacting by becoming hostile again and he kept watching her as she went into the water as well to do what he had done earlier. When she came back and covered her puddle with sand before asking him if that was better a slight smile flickered on his features though only for a moment before disappearing to let a blank look appear on his face again. "I guess." He commented emotionlessly, his eyes staying on her though. He was still slightly confused as to why he was still here but it seemed as though he couldn't make himself leave. Moments ago they had been trying to tear each other apart and yet now they were still in each other's company with no hostility at all, it was rather strange..

Firefly chuckled against, thinking along the same lines that Shango was. Just moments ago, she wanted to kill him, wanted to rip him limb from limb. But now she was at peace with him, and it was incredibly odd, she did have to admit. She shook her head slightly, giving him an odd look before saying, "Earlier, I could have sworn you hated me." She said, laughing softly as she awaited an answer.

He was getting distracted by his own thoughts when her words interrupted them and made him jump slightly before he looked at her, slight surprise showing on his features. "I don't hate those I attack. I just do it because I can." He commented, his tone flat as he kept his eyes on her again now, stopping himself from getting distracted. His skin twitched slightly and he moved, trying to let his mind not completely focus on her yet not get distracted. This was really starting to get to him because it was still confusing him. Being a dalmatian he wasn't quite as smart as some other breeds, so his mind worked a little slower, which was why he couldn't figure this out any faster. "Why would I hate you anyway?" He asked, though it was a question more to himself. Because his brain had started thinking it was making him a lot less likely to become aggressive and he was just thinking of random things. It was a side of him that rarely showed, his more thoughtful calmer side when he was a lot easier to get along with too.

Firefly shrugged slightly. "Well, you kind of attacked me without good reason. That's always a nice start." She said with another small smile. "I just figured that you disliked me for something." She said as she watched him. Perhaps not hate, no. Maybe he was just the kind of dog that loved to instegate, loved to start fights, and loved to finish them. Or maybe he did have soemthing against her.
Who knew?

He listened to her words. "I don't need a reason to attack." He muttered as he watched her. His words were no longer emotionless, and nor was his expression blank. He had relaxed, that was clear.. And he seemed content with being there with her. Which was an unusual thing in itself for he rarely liked to be in the company of another dog. Though maybe it had something to do with the fact that she had stood up to him more than others usually did. "Why didn't you just give up when I had you by the neck?" He asked, his tone nothing but questioning as he watched her. "I would've killed you.." He added almost thoughtfully.. In other circumstances he would have taken that chance to kill her instead of just letting her go like he had. He would've suffered less if he had done that.

Firefly shrugged at his question. "I was bred to be a guard dog, see. So naturally, I had to be fearless and determined. They didn't care if I died in the process, never. They only cared that I made sure whatever they needed to stay safe stayed safe." She shrugged again, considering. "Fighting and determination was in my blood. So even though I tired of the job and left, the determination, and my ability to not care if I died or not, came with me."

He listened to her and gave a slight nod. He kept his eyes on her without realising it, he wasn't meaning to stare. He had a slightly impressed look on his features, he wasn't easily impressed but the fact that she was willing to die to protect something was quite impressive. He wasn't willing to die. "Being protective is never a bad thing." He commented calmly, a slight smile starting to settle on his features. The smile was close to being a smirk but there was a definite difference as well. He didn't say anything more as thoughts started to come to him again.

I don't like living under your spotlights just because you think I might find somebody worthy
"True." Firefly said when he spoke, smiling back at him. He really wasn't as bad as she had originally thought. "I was just thought a thing or two by my mother before we were seperated. One of which is that there are some things worth dying for." She said with a nod. She was then quiet, considerate, as she studied Shango.

The spotted brute let himself drop onto the sand, not putting his head down onto it though because then he would end up breathing in sand and that wouldn't be pleasant at all. He kept listening to what she said, watching her still. "There's nothing worth dying for." He commented, the only thing he would die for was his own life, but then, that would defy the purpose of dying to protect something, so he really didn't think that there was anything he would die protecting. He was too selfish to put his life at stake for anything or anyone else. "I don't see why you would willingly get killed just to protect something, if you get killed then you might as well just have given up because a dead dog can't exactly protect anything." He commented as well, still watching her.
